For nearly twenty years Mark McCray has held a myriad of vital positions in the animation industry, granting him a unique and fascinating insiders’ perspective of both children and adult animated network programming. As an award-winning television writer his passions include programming strategy, animation, and comic books. 

With a proven record in the field of television formatting, Mark is currently a senior manager of programming operations at Adult Swim, where he oversees the networks linear and non-linear promotions and scheduling strategy. 

Prior to his present role at Adult Swim, Mark McCray worked as a television programmer for the critically acclaimed Cartoon Network. He was also a key member of the team that launched the Boomerang Network, bringing his vast knowledge and archiving skills to bare in order to secure the fledgling channel's longevity and success. 

Chief among his accolades, Mark McCray is the author of The Best Saturdays of Our Lives, a book chronicling the origins of competitive Saturday morning animated programming. This immersive time capsule also captures the origins of Marks's career with his newsletters that both introduced and endeared him to the industry he is so passionate about. 

Mark McCray has been a featured guest speaker at The SCAD AnimationFest giving an historical view of Saturday morning programming. He is also a regular on the convention and academic lecture circuit, hosting panels across the country on a wide variety of subjects including African-American Influences on Saturday Morning during the Silver and Bronze ages, Animation on a shoestring budget, and Saturday Morning Programming Strategy from the 60s though the 90s just to name a few. Other key guest lecture appearances include the Savannah College of Art and Design, Power-Con, Retro-Toy Con Greenville, and Treklanta. Mark has been the interview subject of numerous media outlets including Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast, The Adult Swim Podcast, and SciFi Pulse, along with his recurring role as special guest host on Thunder Talk.
